Maybe you're good at several things but not really sure what to focus on. Or you could be like many solopreneurs first starting out, who have Big Dreams of owning, reaching and experiencing life...but no clue how to make money.

Then, this article is for you.

Life Coach Sarah Nadler Shares Her Story, & Best Tips on How to Make That Career or Life Pivot You've Been Wishing For...

Well, let me start out by saying - I've been in that place, and I know exactly how it feels!

For two and a half years, I was a janitor.

That's right - I literally cleaned people's waste and urine off of walls, and I was treated like a servant, ignored, shot dirty looks, or even rude comments...for years.

Now, don't get me wrong.

I ran a team of four other cleaners, and I LOVED my coworkers. I loved my boss, I helped a lot of people who otherwise would not have had a beautiful space - and I kept my building spotless

There were also a few people who were kind, appreciative and very polite to me.

But...for being an educated woman, an experienced life coach and an author, I knew I was wasting my talents. When the day finally arrived that I realized no one else saw those talents but me, I left.

I walked right out the door with no more than $500 to my name!

" I knew I had a talent to share with the world."

That's when the skills I'm about to show you became a vital necessity to me - I knew I could either apply what I knew about the mind, business & marketing to build myself a new beginning...or I'd be right back to scrubbing bathrooms again! Believe me, I'm not afraid of hard work, or ashamed to clean up after other people.

But I knew I had a talent to share with the world, and I was really done with being insulted and looked down upon.

"YOU are an individual, with goals all your own, and a unique and wholly different personality, appearance, self-values and drive to succeed."

1. Break It Down

Most clients come to me in a state of mystery. Afterall, according to Forbes, 70% of workers are disengaged and unhappy.

So how do you make sure you start out right...with the best chance to succeed with a clean slate?

Let's map it out:

Before you throw the baby out with the bath water, it's important to take a look inside for answers. Is it the career, job or business...or is it you? The first step of discovering your unique gift to the world is to examine yourself.

YOU are an individual, with goals all your own, and a unique and wholly different personality, appearance, self-values and drive to succeed.

But of course, no man is an island. In order to survive happily and achieve success and your goals, other people are a necessary part of the bigger picture. Your relationships, communication skills, persuasiveness and motives toward others can all affect your own income and lifestyle!

There's a very famous poem by R.W. Glover, that goes:

"It's a knock at yourself when you knock your town..."

In other words, it's important to take some responsibility for the situations you find yourself in, so you can prevent them from repeating in the next town! That being said, people do pivot, and can successfully start an entirely new career, so long as you first ask yourself the right questions. As a mindset coach, here are a couple things to ask yourself that may indicate it IS you, not your town: 1) Do you find yourself feeling hostile or critical of people and situations at work, or overreacting to stressful moments? This may mean there are things about the job, clients or your boss that you feel you should be acting responsible for, but aren't. 2) Were you once very passionate about the company mission, your career, and the people who you serve? It's possible a feeling of failure can get in your road, which switching jobs may not necessarily handle, and could make starting your own business very difficult. As a note, medicating does nothing for these problems. All drugs do is mask the symptoms while your mind or body attempts to heal them, and the lack of symptoms can prevent you from getting the actual help you need.

2. Ask The Right Questions

Alright, next let's assess your current career or company.

Are the environment & people supportive? Or do you experience a lot of negativity?

Is your company ethical?

Do people show up on time, and generally do their duties?

What is the culture like? It should match your own values. Do you feel lifted up by the group?

If you're an employee, does your boss respect you and your efforts?

Or, for a business owner, how well do your clients or customers show their appreciation?

Are you being fairly paid? Do the research to find out what an average salary is in your line of work for your town. We also have to look at other forms of compensation. One of the most valuable things an employer can offer is on-the-job training. No amount of textbook study can replace real experience in the area you wish to work. Other benefits may include a company car, retirement plan, networking opportunities, or health insurance. Even the act of making valuable contacts with the right people to further your career can weigh against making a hasty career change.

"To Get What You Need, Become What The World Needs."

You could say that the entire subject of money & wealth is simply the search for the sliver between you and the world.

Discovering your gift to the world is not something that can be done simply through therapy, meditation or prayer. It requires getting out into the world and discovering through survey, conversation and experience...

What does the world need that I can deliver and will enjoy doing every day?

This question may require additional thought, or soul-searching, for which therapy, meditation or prayer may be a helpful tool. BUT, it still requires survey, conversation and experience to fully work it out!

Once you have one or two solid ideas that you think the world needs, use this process to really find out >>>>>>BUSINESS IDEA AUDIT.

You may find you were wrong, one...or a dozen times!

That is when having a Business Coach in your corner will be very handy. The emotional rollercoaster of this step can go far beyond what any normal person is capable of handling on their own.

But remember, the mountain may be a vertical road, but with the right gear...you can make it all the way.
